Bloodborne Pathogen Kit (HSB)
The dangers of bloodborne pathogens and body fluid spills are very high. It is important to know and remember that such ills as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV/AIDS are common contaminants for workers in diverse fields of activity. Hospital employees, emergency team members, firefighters, police officers, home attendants, and other occupations are all at risk for the many bloodborne pathogens and body fluids that contain them. Common places that are of note as possible contamination sites are swimming pools, recreational centers, and water parks. At these places the risk of exposure is high due to accidents and possible high amount of carriers of pathogens being present.
OSHA / ANSI compliant. In 1991, OSHA issued the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard to protect workers from bloodborne risk. In 2001, in response to the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act, OSHA revised the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030. The revised bloodborne standard clarifies the need for employers to select safer needle devices and to involve employees in identifying and choosing these devices. The updated standard also requires employers to maintain a log of injuries from contaminated sharps.
